What’s new? We have added the new way of calculating prices on module Groups. From now on, besides choosing different group prices on the whole subgroup level, you can choose group prices calculation only on the reservation level. This means that group price will be applied only if passengers on the reservation are considered to be a group, if you don’t want to base a group price on the total number of passengers booking that subgroup separately.

Benefits? You can make group bookings process more custom. Depending on your needs, the system will take all passengers on separate subgroup reservations into the account to apply group prices (passengers on all individual subgroup bookings are forming a group). If the new calculation option is chosen, it can apply different prices only if the number of passengers on current reservation fulfills bracket requirement to apply a group price (if passengers on current reservation are forming a group, group price will be applied).

How? We will use a subgroup calculation with different prices for different number of people considered to be a group. In this case, lower group price is given if there are 10 people booking this subgroup.

With the usual process of group bookings, the system would calculate group prices if total number of passengers in the subgroup creates a group of people achieving the group price. For example, two bookings with 5 passengers are considered to be a group of 10 passengers. Therefore, a group price is achieved.

If you want to apply the new option, choose Calculate group price on reservation level check box in the Calculation tab.

This way, previous example of two separate reservations with 5 passengers are not forming a group of 10 people. Therefore, first bracket price is taken.

Only if the whole group of people is on the reservation, they will be given a group price, while other passengers will have individual price regardless of the total number of passengers in this subgroup.
